Hermina Joldersma

A quietly political piece in the Grasslands show (see Grasslands Sage Grouse Country), one of a set with 'Once'. The history of the demise of the majestically and so ecologically important bison/buffalo, as well as the devastation their wanton destruction wreaked on Indigenous peoples, burdens my heart. I greet all reintroduction and conservation efforts (Elk Island, Grasslands, Banff, Old Man on His Back, and most recently Batoche) with joy.
