For many years Margaret’s creative outlet was photography, especially taking macro nature pictures focusing on colours in morning light.  Now she transforms her close up photos into fibre art.  She finds compositions in nature very inspiring.  Margaret prefers to work with silk.  She creates unique silk fabrics using a variety of techniques such as over-dyeing and resists with Procion dyes, natural dyes or eco-dyeing.  Her art is designed with these fabrics using fused applique, layering and stitching to add texture and dimension.
