Waterworks

My WATERWORKS piece shows my interpretation of 5 DAYS on the Inside Passage waters of British Columbia. These waters are ever changing and reflect the many shifts in light and weather that constantly develop in Coastal regions.

I use techniques and processes in surface design, including dyeing, discharging, overdyeing, painting, printing, and stitching to transform a piece of white cloth into art cloth suitable for use with my work. As part of this process, I start with simple visual imagery and then move into an in-depth study of the imagery to help it evolve into finished works.
