This is a well-loved Canadian story by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Anne, a carrot-topped orphan girl with freckles, comes to Green Gables. She becomes a cherished member of a household of two aged, unmarried siblings. Down the path in Anne's Haunted Woods Lady Slippers (Prince Edward Island's Provincial flowers) bloom in profusion.
