Waterworks

As with most things, there are two sides to this quilt. On the blue patchwork side, pristine waters spiral outward to become mighty rivers flowing to the sea. The spiral of oceanic life includes microscopic plankton, spawning salmon, the great whales, and us--the humans who can preserve or jeopardise our rivers and coastal waters. Depending on your point of view, the supertankers on the dark side of the quilt are a golden opportunity, or an unwelcome intrusion and a dire threat to the Pacific coast of Canada.
