Botanical Reflections

As I reflect back on my childhood, I recall loving to pick furry red sumac berry stems and exotic leaves that turned fiery red in Fall. My Alberta plant sadly was not nearly as flamboyant. But I fell in love again when I discovered its amazing uses as a textile dye.
