Ekphrastic

Inspired by What To Do Before You Die By Kimmy Beach. Reading Kimmy Beach's poem for the first time brought back memories of the many times my husband and I have taken a break when exploring foreign cities, pausing to have a meal, a coffee, or a glass of wine in an outdoor cafe. While there, we observe the happenings unfolding before us and the people going about their daily lives on the streets in front of us. For my starting point on this piece, I used photos from a Lisbon trip to recreate in fabric the cafe life we experienced there.
