Northbound! Artwork Exchange

Each of us, as artists, has a sense of adventure. We invite you to bring a representation of your sense of adventure, your ideas, enthusiasm and creativity to gather and share at our FAN Conference in Yellowknife this August.

Some adventures are quiet and inner, some adventures are explosive and outer, some take a long time to develop, some happen with the speed of light. Create an artwork that reflects your ‘adventure’.

The tradition of our art exchange has been an exciting part of our FAN conferences. All artworks will be displayed during the conference for all to see and admire. An added perk for participating in this exchange means you can start a little art wall in your home.  If you have not already done so, start your art wall this year by doing what you love to do: make art.

Northbound! Art Exchange Guidelines

You must be a registered attendee at the 2026 conference to participate.

• You may submit one exchange piece
• Use FAN’s Intent to Enter Form in the Members Only – Exhibits area of the website.
• Fee: There is no fee to enter but you must indicate that you are paying by e-transfer for the form to submit properly.
• Bio: You do not need a Bio to enter but you must put something in that field – just enter the words ‘Artist Bio’.

Artwork Parameters:

• 2D artwork – maximum 50” perimeter.
• 3D artwork is encouraged – height or width to have a minimum of 3” and a maximum of 10”. There is no restriction on depth but consider how the piece can be transported home by the recipient. If you are submitting 3D work, it should be easily carried by hand or stowable in a suitcase for recipients who travel by air to the conference.
