A full day of speakers, a workshop, and shopping.
‘In Search of Wild Silk’ was presented by Karen Selk. It was a fascinating look at her journey with silk while travelling in India. Her work was beautiful and she sold all the samples she brought for purchase.
‘Iron Oxide’ owner Willow Friday gave us an overview of her store and what we would be doing during our workshop time in the afternoon.
Here we are learning about new products for fibre artists.
Part of our afternoon was touring around the town. A visit to the library was one location on the list.
Of course there was the mandatory shopping.
Our Stitch Doodles were swapped with another member to continue the creativity.
Day two is complete, are we getting tired but inspired you bet.
So impressed with the presentation by Karen Selk. I learned so much from her talk and am in awe of her experiences and her documentation of wild silk and the people and places connected to this fibre.
