This pieced has a dimensional effect on the raven and the rocks (approx. 1” in depth). It was adapted from a picture I had taken of a raven on a rocky beach in Tofino, BC. It was the iridescence of the raven’s black oily feathers the caught my attention and what I have tried to capture in the piece. The raised effect of the raven was achieved by manipulating the fabrics waviness caused by the intense thread painting and the rocks were sculpted using batting.
