October

This piece was an intrepreation in fabric of Jennifer Still's poem October. October is a whistful time of reflection of the summer past and the upcoming winter. The red-lidded eyes of a beautiful woman gaze out the window at fallen leaves while an angel lands upon her hair and ladybirds dot the windowsill and wall. And it wouldn't be October without a pumpkin.

Hand needleturn appliqué, fused machine appliqué, machine piecing, machine quilting, 3D leaves and curtains.
