At the end of the conference in Yellowknife there was a discussion about the need for two new Boxed Exhibit coordinators (Fall 2026, Fall 2027) and one new Gallery Exhibit Coordinator (Spring 2027).
Three members have come forward to plan the new Gallery Exhibit for (Spring 2028). Details to come at a later date.
There was a call for volunteers for these three exhibits. We are a volunteer organization and if we don’t have volunteers then we don’t have an organization (it doesn’t run itself) and we definitely don’t have new exhibits to enter.
Robin and I (Karlie) put our hands up to create the next Boxed Exhibit because no one else did. Robin and I have both organized a Gallery Exhibit in the past. In addition, Robin currently volunteers on three committees (Newsletter, Zoom, Recruitment) and I volunteer on two (Website, CV).
We would love to see someone new step forward to take on one of these three exhibits, they are not hard to do and there is a ton of support.
FAN also is looking for mentees for the coordinator position and for the venue position, so if you don’t want to plan an exhibit maybe you could step forward for one of these other very important roles.
We are a volunteer organization so let’s volunteer. Please add your comments below.
I can verify that there are lots of supports for volunteers and, if you want to talk with someone about a position or even sit in on a meeting to see what it is all about, just contact the person who is currently in that position.

Margaret Jessop and I would be happy to take the boxed exhibit off your plate. We coordinated it this past year, so we know what needs to be done. I am sure you would like to have new people involved, but if you don’t get any other volunteers, we are ready and willing.
