Reiner and Ariat is full of movement and stasis. The movement of the clouds and the waves, which seem to be in a dance with the red sailboat, contrasts with the tranquility emanating from Reiner and Ariat, who watch the interplay from the shore. The background was curve pieced. Echo quilting enhances the sky, bringing out the clouds. The boats and dogs are fuse appliquéd, then stitched. The water is thread painted with narrow  stitching to intensifying its movement.
