Petroglyphs were an early form of rock art and are found throughout the world.  Arizona has a rich aboriginal history and petroglyphs can be seen throughout the state, in both urban and rural locations. This artwork illustrates some of the images seen on trips around the state.

The depictions of these petroglyphs are made with a scorched lemon juice technique. The individual miniature quilts are on a mixed media background which includes lace, thread, cheesecloth, trim and washers.
