In 2012 I browsed the narrow cobbled streets and the main square of medieval town Pisek in Czech Republic, my mother's birthplace. I admired the shops under the vaulted arcades, and the graffito decorated houses originally owned by wealthy merchants. Cottons, raw edge fused applique, machine quilted.
