Blue Whale Feeding Grounds

NFS

12" x 16"

Blue Whales travel from their feeding grounds in Antarctica to South West Africa twice a year.  A baby blue whale weighs 3 ton and is up to 26 feet long (definitely the biggest baby in the world).  They gain 200 pounds a day for the first year of their life.

This artwork, and subsequent ones, were prepared for a series called "African Sunsets".
