‘Evening’ is inspired by a visit to Passau on the Danube River in Germany.  After drawing an abstraction of this charming town, I changed the time of day from early morning to twilight as well as the actual pastel tints of the structures into vibrantly coloured, sumptuous velvet buildings.

Materials: Artist’s hand-dyed silk/rayon velvet; silk charmeuse
