Karlie Norrish McChesney

Receptacles is a body of work that stems from my obsession with collecting containers; something I have done most of my life. Sometimes they are serviceable and used but those I create more often sit empty as they are non-functional and sculptural in form. This is evident in these receptacles through the shape or adornments. The hand stitching on the surface design gives prominence to my love of embellishment.
