"Fioretti" (French for little flowers) was designed as a class sample for the Nanaimo based "Dimensional Divas" applique group.   My ideas was to introduce various stitches using DMC and Presenci floss, and silk ribbons of various widths.  The various stitches and flowers would be taught at our monthly meetings throughout the year.  At year's end I was hoping to see s variety of small quiltts made by the Divas using techniques taught.  My blocks were set in cotton ovals, surrounded by darker cotton ovals, using a Stonehenge fabric,  They were then appliqued onto linen squares. 

Methods/techniques/supplies:  quilting cottons, linens, silk ribbons, beads,  and flosses were used.  The blocks contain a large variety of embroidery stitches, applique stitches, various silk flowers designs, as well as some bead work,  All applique stitches were hand done.  Quilting was done on a domestic machine.
