La Danse des Papillons began as a two-dimensional piece, lay dormant for a while, then transformed into a 3D hanging when it was resumed. The piece incorporates numerous techniques, including appliqué and couching. Couching adds another layer of texture and dimension to the piece, as is evidenced by the grasses.
