Laundry Day

This piece began life as a quarter metre of white fabric.  After sketching in basic building shapes, I used wax crayon, Derwent Inkense pencils and fabric paint to give it life.  Free-motion stitching and quilting accentuated lines and shapes, while the addition of paper collage filled in the story.  This old street scene is a reminder that life goes on.  Somethings stay the same over generations, while the actors are replaced.
