Landscapes and trees in particular are recurring themes in my work. Winter reveals what dense summer canopies conceal, exposing the elegant architecture of branches and life that was hidden. Autumn arrives as an explosion of colour, while the muted grays and browns of late winter and early spring carry their own subtle narratives, Each season transforms the landscape, offereing a different story, mood and way of seeing.
Lone Tress continues my exploration of using warp threads to weave wool fibre that is then felted, creating surfaces that blur the boundaries between weaving and felting. Behind the woven landscape and wire-structured tree canopy, an opening reveals a landscape painted with earth pigments. A quiet window into the layers, textures and memory within the land itself,
