This embroidered piece was inspired by a textileartist.org 2023 online workshop with Gwen Hedley.  The workshop began with each participant selecting a pair of colours and doing their own markmaking with acrylic paint on fabric.  I used various markmaking tools to create pieces that were dark as well as light.  These pieces were sliced up and a subset reassembled.  I used a variety of stitches to create a cohesive composition from the disparate elements.  Base fabric is linen with cotton, polyester and wool threads and yarns used for stitching.  Embellished with beads and buttons.
