Terri Van Sleuwen

This is the second in my series - Modern Colour. I wanted to create art pieces that were playful; inspired by the simple shapes and bright colours of mid-century modern design. I created a fabric background reminiscent of a tiny quilt and used raw edge applique to attach the brightly coloured fabric shapes. A "scribbly" stitching approach was used to enhance the shapes. The piece is mounted on a wood block.
