Mt. Fuji in Technicolor

As my son and I explored an island off the coast of Japan, Mt Fuji kept hidden in a bank of fog. At the end of the day, the fog slowly lifted, exposing the mythical mountain. As the sunset developed it bathed Fuji and the ocean in brilliant colour. By this time, we were heading towards the station to catch the final fast train into Tokyo. We would walk a bit, stop for a photo, repeat, repeat, until we said this has to be the last stop. Picture taken, we ran as fast as we could for the train. As I stepped out of breath into the car, the train door shut, way too close to my heels. What a day! I had the photo printed on velvet by Contrado, set the fabric with wool batting, free motion quilted, then made the piece into a throw pillow.
