This piece was submitted and accepted into the Focus on Fibre Art Association show " Climate Change" and won a third place ribbon.

Hurricane Irma had been in the news, and I had always wanted to do a mosaic piece, so created this using mostly my hand dyed fabrics.  It took a long time to "grow" into this huge swirl, (with the help of a pair of tweezers) and once all the pieces had been adhered to the background, I realized the only way to quilt it was to overlay it with tulle.  I haven't done another mosaic since.
