Several years ago, on a trip to Montreal, my husband and I happened upon a festival at the Old Port. It was crowded with people in colourful costumes. Large balloons were strung across the entire area. A stilt walker made his way around the grounds with ease. The scene was magical. My photographs from that day were the inspiration for this piece. The Stilt Walker was created with painted linen, silk, and cotton fabrics, machine appliqué, thread painting, and machine quilting. The Stilt Walker was juried into the 2020 North Carolina/Virginia SAQA regional exhibition, IMAGINATION 1 X 4.
