During a visit to Oaxaca Mexico in 2010, I photographed an artist who was thread painting en plein air along one of the streets in the city. He was using assorted colourful threads to recreate the scene he could see in his line of vision. Several of the photos I took were juxtaposed and manipulated using iPhone photography apps to design the final image. The painter and his thread painted canvas were thread painted onto a pieced and stitched background. Thread Painting en Plein Air II was my 2020 donation for the SAQA Benefit Auction.
