An exploration of layers – woven fabric strips inspired by my rust dyed fabrics, embroidery stitches learned as a child, tulle overlays creating more depth, quilting for more texture, couched lace with the blue and pink from my grandfather’s country store and the final topping – a variety of beautiful embellishments.

Materials/Techniques: Rust dyeing, torn fabric strips woven, then fused, hand dyed and commercial thread, hand embroidery, tulle overlays, machine quilted, couched, beaded and embellished .
