Donna Stockdale
About Donna Stockdale
Donna Stockdale is a textile and mixed media artist, creating wearable textiles, soft sculptures and wall pieces inspired by the Precambrian shield landscape.
Painting and dyeing fabrics and fibres; wet-felting wool, paper, silk and plant fibres together to create new textiles; embellishing with colour, stitch and leaf prints – all offer her endless possibilities for experimentation and discovery in describing nature’s colours, forms and textures.
Stockdale is a lifelong learner, taking art classes and workshops with artists from around the world. She has shown her work in juried and other local and Canadian group exhibitions, including the Grand National, Delights in 2024-5, and Saskatchewan Craft Council’s biennial touring exhibition, Dimensions 2021, where she was honoured with the Jane Turnbull Evans Award for Innovation in Craft for her piece, Boreal Diversity.
