Juried into the Grand National Quilting and Fibre Art Exhibit, this piece is one of a kind, never to be repeated! Although not my first effort at ice dyeing, it was my first try at tie dyeing. I tied the fabric tight, using natural gut, laid it on the screen, layered the ice on top, then squirted three different dyes over the ice. On rinsing, the centre figure emerged almost immediately. Then I pinned it to my design wall where it languished for a couple of years. As figures emerged I outlined with a Frizon pen, until finally this was it! About forty hours of free motion quilting finished the project. How it turned out - Serendipity!
