Many varieties of sunflowers grow wild in my garden. This quilt lets me enjoy them all year round. Like the sunflowers, the background repurposed vintage prints have a timeless appeal and compliment these seedy specimens. The tongue-in-cheek title refers to both the sunflower's unkempt natural state and the method of construction.
Techniques and materials include distortion, burned synthetics, trapunto, raw edge collage, hand and machine embroidery, bobbin stitching, beading.
