Using Jane Sassaman's technique for applique, I used my hand dyed fabric for the coloured sections, and commercial black and whites for the inset nuetral section.  Since the size alone indicated that it was sure to be an involved exercise, I decided to keep track of my hours:  150 hours!  I learned alot and was pretty happy with the result.
