Jelly Fish
Private Collection
22"W X 36"H
The transparent nature of jelly fish invokes a sense of magic and wonderment in me. As a Pisces and one who enjoys the feel of moving through water I love the way their shapes change constantly, pulsating as they propel themselves along. Their tentacles seem to reach out as if they had a life of their own, but in the end somehow remain connected to that transparency.
Materials: hand dyed cotton, assorted couching materials, polyester organza, wire, and paint.
Techniques: Shibori dyeing, stamping, machine and hand applique, machine couching, wired and distorted yo-yos, machine quilted.
