This lovely roadside stop is somewhere on Highway 20 in central Alberta. Noticing the small pond created by a beaver dam, I stopped to take a picture. Immediately, I was attacked by swarming mosquitoes—obviously, this was the epicentre of their breeding ground. I hightailed it to the car, and back to the studio to make this piece—without help from my winged friends.
