My Embroidery Sampler, with a Touch of Orange

NFS

15.75"W x 23.75"L

Along with a over a dozen embroiderers, I have rekindled my love of hand work and embroidery in particular. Each month at regular meetings, we learn one new stitch and variations thereof. At the end of the year, we were challenged to create a small wall piece to incorporate what we learned. I chose to make overlapping circles each with a different stitch. The work was done on hand-dyed linen and set into a background of silk dupioni.

Hand embroidery, hand needleturn appliqué, machine quilting.

Displayed as part of an exhibit A Touch of Orange presented by the FAN/SAQA group from the Lower Mainland, BC at the Whiterock Library, Whiterock, BC, 2021.
