My Out of the Earth series, explores  topics of local concern, using the mineral pigments from the earth mixed with soymilk.

In this piece current drought conditions are impacting water fowl returning to their nesting areas in shrinking priairie potholes. The returning birds are a joyous reminder to us that winter is retreating. I worry this brown landscape greeting them, will force them to journey on.
