what if I become a myth?
$6000.

The creation of this art piece is interesting. It started with a purchased preloved maxi squirt in which I thought of a mermaid! During the pandemic, I sketched out a design on a large piece of paper on my design wall. Months later : after much "construction" using silk, upholstery, chiffon, lace, cotton, ribbon, beads, gauze, roving and authentic sea shells, she was created. During the process, my friend, Kathy Salvador, was intrigued and joined in with creating the paper pieced polar bear - credit to Cassandra Beaver - the not so dramatic life - pattern maker - polar bear. Kathy also created the design of jelly fish and also joined in with the creation of the coral reef. I enhanced the piece with threadpainting, and quilted by self.
This was created in 2021 and finished in 2022. It was juried into the Canadian Quilting Association National Show in 2022 held in Vancouver BC.
