About Judy Leslie

Judy Leslie’s passion for art began in childhood. Over the years, she developed skills as a potter, stained glass artist, painter, photographer and seamstress. These skills allowed her to easily transition to the evolving aesthetics of fibre art over the last 20 years.

Inspired by her environment and worldly travels, Judy uses her hand dyed cotton, silk, wool and linen fabrics to bring her chosen images to life. She adds detail to many of her creations through the use of extensive thread painting, hand stitching, painting, stamping, stencilling, foiling, felting, beading and a variety of resist methods. She continues to experiment with new techniques and a variety of art supplies in order to add interest and depth to her images. She has received numerous significant awards for her work in regional, national and international exhibits.

Judy’s affiliations include the Fibre Art Network (FAN), Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), Canadian Quilters’ Association (CQA) and Fraser Valley Quilter Guild (FVQG)
