Nan and Margaret have stepped forward to organize a new Boxed Exhibit for the Fall.  Thank you so much to keep FAN moving forward.

We now need volunteers for the Gallery Exhibit the begins next Spring 2027 – any takers?

Karen has put together the following information to show everyone that once you have your exhibit ready to go there is a whole host of volunteers who take over from there.

Gallery Exhibit Chain of Events

 

As members are pondering about volunteering as organizers for the next Gallery Exhibit it would be helpful to know about the exhibit volunteers and their job and how it ties in to each stage of the process. It also helps all entrants to understand the exhibit process.

Exhibit Organizers – submit proposal to Executive, Venue and Website groups; assemble exhibit using the Guide to Creating a FAN Exhibit and the Training Manual for the Exhibit Database

Proposal Coordinator – compile information needed to procure venues for each new exhibition e.g. Exhibition statement and proposal, hi res photos, CVs, etc.; early entries enable the Venue Coordinators to begin a search for venues

Venue Coordinator Team – submit proposals to venues (members can forward suggestions to the venue team); determine the needs of the venue e.g. dates, photos, CVs, etc. once the contract is completed; liaise with the following Coordinators: Proposal, Exhibitions, Promotions, Fan Sales, Website, Treasurer, CV/Bio, Regional Reps

Exhibitions Coordinator – deals with the shipping to each gallery, communicating with all involved

CV/Bio Coordinator – bios are now collected on the Intent to Enter form; collects CVs of each entrant which are used by the Proposal Coordinator for gallery purposes

Art Work Sales Coordinator – coordinates the sale of art work with galleries, artist and purchasers using the appropriate contract

Promotions Committee – notify members of upcoming exhibits; create a short video of each exhibit which is posted on FAN’s You Tube channel; supports venues with FAN info e.g. posters, QR code, etc.

Social Media Coordinator – shares posts of upcoming exhibits and items relevant to fibre artists

Website Team – assists organizers with data base and the uploading of the exhibit photos and artist info; exhibit calendar

Regional Reps – liaises with the local venues that FAN has booked, assisting the venue as needed e.g. artist talks, etc.

Newsletter Committee – don’t forget to send images from our exhibits so that everyone can enjoy seeing the art work in each gallery.
