About Bernadette Yuzik
I have been holding a pencil in my hand since a toddler. My art was inspired by my mother, whom would “squiggle” a line thru blank paper, leading me to create. It was playful, imaginative and lead me to now – a love for fiber art. I love drawing, painting, using any variety of textiles and incorporating it into all my art.
I have taken workshops through the years and been inspired by the talented teachers and students. Each artist and quilter I have met, has gifted me with inspiration, which leads me to go down the rabbit hole when I am in my studio, where many hours pass.
I began sewing at age 8, creating clothing and gifts. This passion lasted throughout my life. I was introduced to quilting in the late 90’s and subsequently art quilting in the early 2000’s. It seemed a natural flow of my love of fabric and art. Hence, I love creating our beloved animals with fabric, thread and some paint! My work tends to be more realistic. I do enjoy a challenge! I likely will never cease to be amazed, how an art piece will unfold. From thought to product, flowing with the changes.
I have humbly been juried into Canada’s CQA National show, La Conner, Washington, and The Grand National Fibre Art Exhibition ” Delights” and Road to California.
