Artist Statement
Fabric - the rhythms formed as color,
texture, line and design dance together - fascinates me. Textiles are my
medium. Quilting is my art form. Almost always I love it. Sometimes I hate
it. Usually when I'm struggling with one of life’s lessons. All that I'm
thinking and learning finds its way into my work. The lessons are not
just mine; they are common to all women even as they are unique to each of
us. No two artists - no two quilts - no two women - no two experiences -
are ever the same.
Life is a series of learning curves.
Throughout mine, quilting has been my reflective outlet – sustaining,
encouraging, stretching and developing me. Whatever happens, I work it all
out in the fabric - lessons far beyond technique, line and design. Always
I am thankful for the gift of self expression, the ability to create with
head and heart and hands.
